Little Miss Luna

Part of my work is being a guardian to people’s memories.  As I capture moments, it’s always gratifying to know that my work provides a way for people to cherish and remember their special moments and milestones.

A week ago,  I received news from my dear friend that she was in the hospital for observation as her scheduled due date was near approaching.   She kept me updated as the days passed by and finally in the middle of the night, I received the news that we had all been waiting for – Little Miss Luna had finally arrived.

Due to some post-partum complications, my friend was placed in ICU and did not get to see her beautiful daughter right away.  The following day, I showed up at the hospital to visit my old friend and my newest one.  And talk about timing – I arrived just as my friend was being taken to see and hold her daughter for the first time!

Beyond just sharing such an amazing moment with my friend – it was also coming full circle since she was there with my when my daughter was born 4 years ago on Thanksgiving weekend.

Victoria and Daniel

There is nothing I love more than a good old fashioned backyard wedding.  And Victoria and Daniel’s exceeded every expectation I had.  Gorgeous weather, amazing guests, and beautiful vows made this day spectacular!  Not to mention the school bus that picked up the guests and delivered them to the port of Miami to embark upon a lovely weekend cruise through the Bahamas.   DIY weddings rock! xoxo

Nancy and Nick

Sometimes, I get a call to shoot a good old fashioned house party.  This time the call came from a friend, the talented artist, Nancy Garcia (http://www.nancygarcia.org/).  Her and her lovely husband were married over the summer in Hilton Head, but the destination wedding meant that some of Nancy’s relatives in Miami were unable to travel and attend.  So the bride’s brother and sister hosted a really fantastic house party to congratulate the couple and to allow for many of Nancy’s family members to meet her fantastic husband, Nick.   This session was heavy on family portraits since it had been a really long time since most of the family had come together, but in between all the formal shots were some really great moments.  xoxo

Cleidy and Andy

Cleidy and Andy were high school sweethearts in Cuba.  Life and circumstances separated them when Andy’s family moved to Miami.  Fast forward some years and Cleidy finds herself in Miami.  Within a few weeks, Andy returned home from the military on vacation and reunited with Cleidy.  Four months later they were married!!

Miami’s Vice City Rollers

Here’s some shots from my photosession with Miami’s Vice City Rollers! It was so much fun, until the sky opened up and poured down on us.   But that just gives us another reason to set up another session!! xoxo
